Gloria Grening Wolk
Gloria Grening Wolk is considered an expert on viatical settlements. She is the author of three of the only books written on viatical settlements that have the interest of the consumer in mind.
Wolk got her masters degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut and studied to be a financial planner with Lincoln National. She has experience as a teacher, family counselor, financial planner, insurance consultant, and tax preparer. The combination of this broad experience makes her a specialist of both the financial and social aspects that are involved in viatical settlements.
For years, Gloria has been working hard to help people in need. When she began studying viatical settlements, she realized that not much had been covered on the important subject. When she discovered the substantial risks involved when one sells their life insurance policy, she began to write about the subject to inform people of the risks. This was in her first book, Cash For the Final Days: A Financial guide for the Terminally Ill and Their Advisors. This book includes ways to avoid being scammed, which forms should remain unsigned, a guide to accelerated death benefits, and ways to get more money than the investor's offer.
When this book was released, Wolk began getting much positive feedback on the content, as well as an upsurge of phone calls with questions regarding her book and ways to invest, as she was the only author of a book on such a topic. When the increase of phone calls became abundant, Wolk wrote another book called, Viatical Settlements: An Investor's Guide. This book is important for potential investors to read, as it instructs you on what to look for and what to stay away from in the viatical industry.
Her final book is called Viatical Litigation: Principles & Practice. This book deals with the legalities within viatical settlements. Wolk explains the industry with examples of cases, rulings, statutes, commentary, and more. Lawyers, prosecutors, consumer protection representatives, regulators, and legislators will use this book to refer to the details that went misunderstood before Gloria Grening Wolk's research and writing came along.
